Data Privacy Policy

1. This Data Privacy Notice describes the personal data collected by Mid Cheshire Ornithological Society (MCOS), why it is collected, how it is stored and used, and who it is shared with.

2. The MCOS website address is https://www.midcheshireos.uk.

3. This Data Privacy Notice applies to MCOS members, and to non-members who take part in MCOS activities. Members and non-members are collectively referred to as "individuals".

4. Personal data includes: name, address, home telephone number, mobile telephone number, e-mail address and membership type.

5. Personal data stored by MCOS only includes that provided by individuals.

6. MCOS only uses personal data:
- to maintain an up-to-date list of contact details,
- to provide individuals with such information that is deemed to be of interest to them.

7. Personal data is shared with MCOS committee members for the purpose of conducting the legitimate business of the society. Contact details for MCOS committee members are published in the Quarterly Newsletter. Committee members may also be contacted by email at info@midcheshireos.uk.

8. Personal data is held on computer and is managed by the Treasurer who is responsible for data security.

9. Consent to storing and using personal data in accordance with this Data Privacy Notice is obtained from individuals during the membership application process.

10. Consent can be withdrawn by an individual at any time by contacting the Treasurer in writing.

11. If there is a change in personal data, the individual is responsible for advising the Membership Secretary, so that records can be updated.

12. This Data Privacy Notice will be reviewed annually.
